Created by John Mercanti, the reverse depicts a heraldic eagle with a patriotically striped shield at its breast, an image adapted from the Great Seal of the United States. Inscribed "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA," "1 OZ. FINE SILVER," "ONE DOLLAR" and "E PLURIBUS UNUM."
